DOCUMENTAL COMUNITARIO COMO HERRAMIENTA PARA LA DEFENSA DEL TERRITORIO DE LOS PIJAO LA TATACOA (VILLAVIEJA, HUILA, COLOMBIA)

Audiovisual media can serve as a transformative tool by facilitating the exchange of information and amplifying the voices of communities in relation to their territories. In this regard, the present article proposes a protocol for the creation of a community-based documentary aimed at making visible and strengthening the territorial defense processes of the Pijao Indigenous community of La Tatacoa (Villavieja, Huila, Colombia). Its development and implementation followed four phases with the active participation of eleven community members, consolidating a collaborative process that originated from the initiative of the Indigenous community itself. The results underscore the importance of aligning research processes with community narratives and lived experiences, thereby enabling the genuine co-construction of the notion of territory and the sociocultural practices that sustain it. This audiovisual material, emerging from a community-driven initiative, is positioned as a key resource for strengthening the sociocultural processes of the Pijao La Tatacoa Resguardo, while simultaneously linking territorial defense to the internal voices of the community and to external actors committed to its protection
