Asteroid Fragmentation Optimization

Asteroid fragmentation is of great significance in astrophysics. Its fragmentation mechanism involves multiple factors, including impact force, tidal forces, rotational stress, and material strength. Inspired by asteroid fragmentation, this paper proposes a novel heuristic optimization algorithm, the Asteroid Fragmentation Optimization (AFO), incorporating unique mechanisms such as crack-guided fragmentation, fragment cluster coevolution, adaptive fragment energy merging, and tidal perturbation randomness. The algorithm focuses on fragment generation, evolution, and merging as its core search strategy. It uses mathematical models to describe fragment distribution, motion evolution, and collision and merging processes, achieving a balance between global search and local exploration. This paper details the algorithm's mathematical modeling, process design, and innovative features, and analyzes its potential application value in complex optimization problems, providing new insights for the development of heuristic algorithms.
