REVISED BLOOM IN TEACHER EDUCATION: AROMATIC HYDROCARBONS

In study, an assessment tool based on Revised Bloom's taxonomy to help organic chemistry educators better align their assessments with teaching activities and to help future chemistry teachers improve their learning and metacognition skills was developed. The paper shows ways to improve the teaching and learning of students in organic chemistry, on the example of aromatic hydrocarbons, thereby adjusting teaching and improving students' mastery of the material, developing questions at higher levels of cognitive skills, and assisting students in preparing for exams. In addition, methodological guidelines have been developed to help teachers in creating high-quality lesson materials at the appropriate level of taxonomy. It was established that teaching with revised Bloom’s taxonomy effectively develops students’ understanding, basic knowledge, and self-study capacity. The topic “Aromatics” which is detailed in the research was built by studying the content characteristics of organic chemistry. We conclude that it is suitable to develop the revised Bloom’s taxonomy-based methodology for other organic chemistry topics.
