The Linguistics of YHWH, the Ontology of 'The Existent', and the Integration of Universal Consciousness
This study explores the interconnectedness between a linguistic analysis of the divine name YHWH in the Hebrew tradition and the universal ontology of "The Existent" as understood in classical phi- losophy and Islamic mysticism (Sufism). The name YHWH, which derives from the Hebrew verbal root hayah meaning "to be" or "to become," is linguistically revealed as an ontological statement about a single, absolute, and continuous Being, not merely a personal identity. This meaning is synthesized with the concept of Wahdat al-Wujud in Sufism and the Nusantara wisdom of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika as an expression of unity within diversity. Through an interdisciplinary approach, this paper uncovers the deepest meaning of YHWH as a manifestation of a singular reality that transcends and unifies all exis- tence.
