Domene (Spelaeomene) cantonsi Espanol 1972

Domene (Spelaeomene) cantonsi Español, 1972 (Figure 4) Material examined MOROCCO: 1♂, ' Ifri Tagadart, Inmouzer des Ida ou Tanane (Marroc), 23 July (20) 03'(MNCNB). 1♀, ' Wit Tandoine, Tizqui N’Chorga, Inmouzer des Ida ou Tanane (Marroc), 23 July (20)03, det. C. Hernando 2007 '”(MNCNB). Remarks Español (1972) described D. cantonsi based on a female from Win-Timdouine cave, 60 km north-east of Agadir in Morocco, with label information ‘cueva de Wit Tamdoun junto a Tazentout region de Imouzzer des Ida Ou Tanana, 60 km N. E. de Agadir, Marruecos’. After the initial description of this species, Bordoni (2003) and Hernando (2007) recorded some males of the species from the type locality, as well as in two other nearby caves. The male was described and illustrated by Bordoni (2003). I examined some specimens of the species in the collections of the MNCNB during my visit in 2021. Thus, to permit a correct identification, the male primary and secondary sexual characters and also the habitus and forebody of D. cantonsi are photographed for the first time (Figure 4).
