The Effect Of Green Supply Chain Management Practice On Organizational Performance In Cement Industry: The Case Of National Cement Sh.Co

The issues of climate changes become a global concern and become a day today braking news around the world. The main point of the Paris agreement is to keep global warming below 2oC and it encourages world leaders to have a long-term goal for net-zero emissions. Manufacturing firms ought to give more focus to green supply chain management practice for a better sustainable environment. The key concern however, is whether the implementation of these practices leads to better performance. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect green supply chain practice on organizational performance the case of National cement share co. dire dawa Ethiopia. The specific objectives were to determine the effect of green purchasing, Eco design, internal environmental Practice and Investment recovery on the performance cement processing firms. To achieve these objectives four hypotheses were formulated in line with the study objectives. As a means of data collection instrument questionnaire were applied. The study’s response rate was 100 percent. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics by use of hierarchical moderated multiple regression analysis. In order to analyse, interpret and present the data captured via questionnaire, Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) were used. With regard to the survey output correlation analysis revealed the existence of statistically significant positive association between the dimensions of green supply chain management and organizational performance, the overall survey result indicate that internal environmental management and Green Purchasing have identified to have statistically significant predictive power on organizational Performance Whereas Eco design and investment recovery found to have no statistically significant predictive power on organizational Performance of national cement. Organizational Performance is moderately threatened by National cement sh.co. The regression result also suggested that statistically significant predicting power on organizational performance. It is recommended that National cement is required to review its green supply chain practices and make the necessary modifications in order to benefit from the performance improvements in terms of Eco design and investment recovery
