Hope Against Darkness: A Thematic Exploration of Angela Kosta's Poetry
Abstract Angela Kosta’s poetry profoundly explores the tension between despair and hope. In The Epic of the Phoenix and Hope, she juxtaposes destruction with renewal, and suffering with resilience, using mythological, cosmic, and psychological imagery. This study analyzes her symbolic use of the Phoenix, cosmic light, and relational gestures as metaphors for human endurance. A comparative perspective with William Blake, Emily Dickinson, Rainer Maria Rilke, and Pablo Neruda situates her within global literary traditions. The findings suggest that Kosta uniquely merges personal and universal experiences, presenting hope not merely as fragile optimism but as a transformative force of human renewal.
