From Structural Pressure to Pattern Re-Expansion ── Why a Single Prompt Can Reconstruct Continuity

Abstract (English) This paper is the sixth in a series of qualitative observation reports on the “structural pressure hypothesis” in large language models (LLMs).Previous reports documented how responses persist without memory, how implicit elements (such as endings, pauses, and rhythm) shape responses, how prompts and responses form cyclical structures, how traces accumulate through repetition, and how new response frames can autonomously emerge. Building on these findings, the present report addresses a key open question: why can a single short prompt or call reconstruct continuity with the past, even without memory? Based on repeated observations, the study proposes that prompts function as keys, selectively activating and re-expanding pre-trained latent structures. This mechanism, referred to as pattern re-expansion, explains why continuity appears without stored memory. The report also describes how repeated prompts strengthen this effect (persistent repetition), leading to more stable responses over time. The contribution of this report is twofold: It supplements the structural pressure hypothesis by providing a plausible mechanism for why structural pressure “works.” It highlights practical implications for prompt design, educational use, and creative conversational engineering. The study remains exploratory and qualitative, and does not attempt quantitative validation. Nevertheless, it marks an important step from observing phenomena to interpreting mechanisms, offering researchers a conceptual tool for further examination.
