Mathematical modelling of dust-gas flow in dust collection cyclones and optimization of their parameters

The limited accessibility of gas infrastructure in the Russian Far East necessitates alternative solutions for emission control in energy generation facilities. This study presents an optimized design of inertial dust collectors to address particulate emissions from low-grade fuel combustion. Numerical simulations performed with SolidWorks software demonstrate a 10.33% increase in collection efficiency for 30-50 μm particles compared to conventional cyclone separators. A modified CN-15 cyclone configuration with redesigned exhaust pipe geometry has been developed and patented, showing enhanced particulate matter capture performance. The improved design offers practical applications for enhancing environmental safety in regional boiler houses utilizing solid fuels. Implementation of this technology could significantly reduce particulate emissions in areas lacking access to cleaner energy infrastructure.
