How Urban Morphology Explains Logistics Operations: A Spatial-Temporal Analysis of Logistics Vehicles
This thesis examines the relationship between urban morphology and logistics performance at the PC6 postcode level in major Dutch cities (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Utrecht). Using advanced spatial regression models and geospatial data sources (including 3DBAG, CBS, and OSM), the research identifies how building density, street patterns, and urban form influence last-mile delivery efficiency. The results contribute to both academic and applied debates in urban planning, transport logistics, and geodesign, offering insights for policymakers, logistics operators, and urban designers seeking to balance efficiency with livability in high-density environments. Keywords: urban logistics, spatial regression, morphology, Netherlands, last-mile delivery, geodesign, PC6 analysis, spatial econometrics
