The study of the theoretical and methodological principles of enterprise development management in the context of digital transformations is extremely relevant, as it contributes to the adaptation of business to new realities, increasing the efficiency of management decisions and forming a strategy for sustainable development in the digital era. Business digitalization is a priority at the state level in many countries, including Ukraine. Effective enterprise development management in this context has a direct impact on economic growth, innovative activity and integration into global markets. The purpose of the study was to generalize the theoretical and methodological principles of enterprise development management, which were formed historically on the basis of classical theories of cyclical development and the evolution of entrepreneurial activity, and to assess their suitability for use at the applied level in the context of digital business transformations. To achieve this goal, methods of analysis, synthesis and generalization were used. It has been established that the current state of evolution of theories of entrepreneurship and enterprise development management is characterized by multivariate and interdisciplinary nature: currently, several popular theories stand out, each of which explains the development of enterprises from different positions - from the economic nature of doing business, psychological and cultural characteristics of consumers of firm products and to resource-innovative ideas of business management. It has been found that classical theoretical approaches have certain limitations for their use in modern conditions of doing business, since they are characterized by the absence of the idea of the need to take into account dynamic changes in the external environment of the enterprise. This limitation provokes the emergence of new adaptive and innovative concepts of enterprise development management. It has been proven that the best option for updating the theoretical and methodological principles of enterprise development management in the context of digital business transformations is to use a combination of several classical theories, for example, innovation, resource and life cycle theories of a business entity with the principles of adaptive management.
