De la teoría a la práctica: extendiendo el trabajo experimental en la enseñanza de las ciencias.
The post-pandemic scenario made visible and boosted the adoption of new technologies in education, including Remote Laboratories (RL), which have become a crucial resource to address the challenges of experimentation in science education today. In a recent workshop, 15 science teachers from primary and secondary education explored both an Ultra-Concurrent Microscopy Laboratory and a Hands-On Laboratory, both aimed at the same experimental learning objectives in biology. The results showed that 86.67% of the participants found the LR easy to use and highlighted that the experience was comparable to that of a face-to-face laboratory. All participants recommended integrating this resource into the science curriculum, especially in institutions with infrastructure limitations. Descriptive statistics supported the consensus on the accessibility and effectiveness of the remote resource, as well as its adaptability to meet educational goals. This study underscores the importance of experimentation in teaching and the need for adequate training for teachers to effectively incorporate these technologies in primary and secondary education. The adoption of remote laboratories democratizes science education, provided that effective pedagogical strategies are implemented. This not only enriches learning but also prepares students for the ethical and responsible use of technology in the future.
