Representaciones Sociales de Estudiantes y Docentes Universitarios sobre los Usos Académicos de Herramientas de Inteligencia Artificial Generativa.

In this work, we investigated the social representations of students and teachers about Generative Artificial Intelligence, which from the appearance of chatbot programs such as ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot, among others, is challenging teaching and learning strategies and opening new debates in the educational field. Surveys were carried out on a non-probabilistic sample composed of 13 professors and 343 students from the University of José C. Paz (UNPAZ). We ask ourselves about the meanings and meanings associated with this phenomenon, the structure of its representation, and the possible differential positions. The results indicate that the social representations of students and teachers about programs such as ChatGPT or similar show a strong emphasis on their functionality and efficiency, consolidating themselves as the central core of their representation. However, the presence of categories such as trust and precision and negative perceptions in the periphery indicates that ethical and reliability aspects are also considered, which is confirmed in the more concrete senses or meanings, linked to practice and personal experience.
