Divulgación Científica en Clave Accesible: el Caso de “Derechos en el aire”
As recent research in the field of public communication of science in universities has shown, the promotion of access, communication and social appropriation of science has not been an object of higher education institutions, but a product of changes in the field of science and technology and a ‘mutation’ in society's contracts with the state, science and universities. This scenario of openness to external demands and expansion to the interests of all the sectors involved, in which the activity of sharing knowledge has become intrinsic to the whole scientific process - making it necessary to use resources to make the resulting work visible - has brought with it this scenario. As a consequence, the university has had to know how to strategically manage the demand and social use of knowledge. Such is the case of ‘Derechos en el aire’ (Rights on the air), a podcast to disseminate the knowledge woven within the Collective of Researchers and Producers of Communication Accessibility, based at the Caleta Olivia Academic Unit of the National University of Southern Patagonia. This proposal is the result of an institutional call that is in line with the academic ethos deeply rooted in the Latin American region, which inscribes universities in a place of strong social commitment - for which, it is worth mentioning, it is urgent to guarantee access for all social sectors, especially historically excluded minorities.
