Autoatención/autocuidado pos-COVID-19: Una mirada desde la Enfermería en la Universidad Nacional de la Patagonia Austral

This article examines the self-care practices implemented by people who experienced the post-COVID-19 phase in the province of Santa Cruz, Argentina, during the 2020-2022 period, within the framework of the Nursing academic program at the National University of Southern Patagonia (UNPA), San Julian Academic Unit (UASJ). From a collective health perspective of good living and well-being, the Health-Disease-Care Process (HDCP) model is adopted, highlighting the active participation of the community in their health. The results show a low hospitalization rate and a high proportion of people without significant sequelae, highlighting the role of home care and community resilience. Ninety-nine percent had support networks, primarily family members, and 79% modified their lifestyle, prioritizing physical activity, hygiene, and nutrition. Furthermore, a significant psychoemotional impact was identified, with heightened concern for health and the future. The need to strengthen mental health services, promote healthy lifestyles, and consider the social determinants of health is emphasized. This research contributes to the training of future nurses, fostering a comprehensive approach to care, in line with the principles of good living and well-being.
