THE RISE OF DENTRONICS IN PROSTHODONTICS – A NEXT-GENERATION TRANSFORMATION : A REVIEW

ABSTRACT The integration of robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) into prosthodontics and oral implantology is redefining traditional workflows, moving from manual craftsmanship toward digitally driven, automated precision, with capabilities ranging from micrometer-level surgical guidance to automated denture tooth arrangement. These technologies promise enhanced accuracy, reproducibility, and efficiency in both clinical and laboratory workflows. As scanty literature is available, this article systematically synthesizes historical perspectives, current applications, technological benefits, limitations, and future directions. Despite remarkable technological readiness, mainstream clinical adoption is still constrained by cost, infrastructure needs, training requirements, and limited clinical validation. Nevertheless, with continued innovation and targeted implementation strategies, robotics and AI are poised to become standard tools in modern dental practice. Keywords: Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Prosthodontics, Oral Implantology, CAD/CAM, Dental Technology, Precision Dentistry.
