The Fine-Structure Constant as an Emergent Property of a Pregeometric E8 Universe: A Critical Analysis of the Golden K Hypothesis

This paper presents a rigorous analysis and proposed derivation of the fine-structure constant, alpha, within the theoretical framework of the Golden K Hypothesis (GKH). A specific formula for the inverse fine-structure constant is derived from the geometric and group-theoretic invariants of the GKH's proposed E8-based quasicrystalline spacetime. This formula, which links the constant's value to the Coxeter group H4 and powers of the golden ratio, is tested against the CODATA 2022 recommended value, demonstrating a remarkable agreement with a deviation of less than half a standard deviation. Furthermore, the paper proposes a mechanism for the "running" of the coupling constant based on the GKH's principle of "Dynamic Causality" and its variable-order calculus. This mechanism is then used to calculate the value of the constant at the electroweak scale, which is also shown to be in excellent agreement with experimental data. The work aims to elevate the formula from a numerological coincidence to a falsifiable prediction that provides strong evidence for the GKH's geometric foundations.
