Tetiaroa Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) Agreement
The Tetiaroa Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) Agreement establishes the legal framework between French Polynesia and the Tetiaroa Society for managing access to biodiversity on Tetiaroa Atoll. It sets out terms for the collection, use, transfer, and publication of biological materials under the Tetiaroa Biocode & Omic Observatory, ensuring alignment with the Convention on Biological Diversity and the Nagoya Protocol. The Agreement supports equitable benefit sharing, scientific stewardship, and transparent data practices for research conducted on Tetiaroa.
