Ensino Jurídico no Principado Romano (27 A.C. – 285) a Partir das Duas Escolas Rivais e da Evolução da Iurisprudentia
This present work’s goal is to study the evolution of the legal source of Roman iurisprudentia (systematized interpretation of Law, hereby called as legal science), particularly the historical and political context in which iurisprudentia arrived and could provide the emergence of the phenomenon of those active legal schools in the Roman Principate (27 BCE – 285) period, pointing out their main dif erences regarding philosophy and method. Originally coming from a concise presentation made to the study group “Roman Legal System and Latin-American Subsystem”, that has been in activity at the Faculty of Law of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, the subject of dualism that marked the first century of the Roman Empire and transformed legal science in matter of teaching, education of jurists was presented. The bibliographical research was hereby expanded and deepened, giving rise to an article that aims to understand the legacy of the two schools and their contribute to the dissemination, in Portuguese, of knowledge about the existence, performance and impact of such schools in Roman Law, as well as its role in Roman Law’s constant evolution, this being its main relevance.
