THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS OF TRADE WAR: CONCEPT, CLASSIFICATION, MAIN DETERMINANTS AND REGULARITIES IN THE CONTEST OF THE TRADE WAR BETWEEN THE USA AND CHINA
The article provides the development of the theoretical foundations of a trade war, including the improvement of theoretical tools in terms of defining the concept of “trade war”, classifying trade wars, the main determinants and patterns that characterize their occurrence and conduct. In order to overcome the conflict of interests between the US and China and reduce the negative impact of the trade war on the national economies of the countries, a corresponding Strategy has been proposed, the essence of which boils down to the long-term institutionalization of a mechanism for resolving the conflict of interests between the US and China based on the author’s concept of “proxy rivalry”.
