EVIDENCE ON THE IMPACT OF DIET COMBINED WITH CONTINUOUS GLUCOSE MONITORING ON GLYCEMIC CONTROL IN PEOPLE WITH TYPE 1 DIABETES: SCOPE REVIEW PROTOCOL

This scoping review aims to map the current scientific evidence on the impact of dietary strategies combined with continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) on glycemic control in individuals with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM). T1DM is a chronic autoimmune condition that requires complex management, including insulin therapy, nutritional planning, and continuous self-monitoring. Advances in CGM technology have provided patients and healthcare professionals with real-time glucose data, which can be integrated with personalized nutrition to improve glycemic outcomes. Given the increasing use of CGM and the evolving approaches to diabetes nutrition, this review will identify existing practices, clinical recommendations, and evidence on the combined use of CGM and dietary strategies. It also aims to highlight effective interventions and knowledge gaps that may inform future research, guide multiprofessional clinical practice, and contribute to improving the quality of life for individuals living with T1DM.
