GANGRENOUS CHOLECYSTITIS- AN UNCOMMON PRESENTATION
Introduction: Gangrenous cholecystitis (GC) is the most severe form of acute cholecystitis, a type of acute inflammation of the gallbladder and is potentially fatal complication of acute cholecystitis. It occurs when prolonged and severe inflammation causes increased pressure in the gallbladder, leading to reduced blood flow and gangrene. The symptoms overlap with acute cholecystitis but are often more severe. There can be right upper quadrant abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, fever with leucocytosis.
