The Mathematical Genesis of Time
We adopt a geometric--operational stance rather than a medium hypothesis: the phase–inducedindex \(N(x,t)=\exp\{\beta_n\,\delta(x,t)\}\) is treated as the optical avatar of a weak–field metric.Under local Lorentz invariance the light–cone speed \(c_0\) is fixed; gravity enters optics throughpath–length and clock dilation. In the weak–field limit \(N(x)\simeq 1-2\Phi(x)/c_0^2\), yielding thegradient law \(\mathbf g=\tfrac{c_0^2}{2}\nabla\ln N\), consistent with Shapiro delay and lensing. Alight–clock definition of operational time gives the Maxwell/eikonal prediction\(\Delta t=\tfrac{1}{c_0}\int (N-1)\,ds\). In this work we test the entire phase\(\to\)metric chain using a \emph{frozen} setup: (i) spectral data(true Riemann zeros) generate a smoothed phase lattice and a band–limited structural field\(\delta(x,t)\) with fixed space–time bandwidth; (ii) a single boundary–safe lock \(t^{*}\) is chosen onclean data by a fixed selector \(K(t)\approx 2\); (iii) \(\beta_n\) is chosen \emph{a priori} and frozen; and(iv) the structural scale \(\lambda_{\rm str}\) is fixed once on the clean record at \(t^{*}\) using spatialmedians, with no per–trial tuning thereafter. Two falsifiable checks are then applied to blinded segments and Monte Carlo noise scans:(1) Maxwell–layer delay—predicted \(\Delta t\) from \(\int (N-1)\,ds\) agrees with measured delays; and(2) a dimensionless \(c_0\)-link closure at the locked instant,\[\Pi(t^{*})\equiv\frac{\tfrac{c_0^2}{2}\,\operatorname{median}_x[\partial_x\ln N(x,t^{*})]} {\operatorname{median}_x[g_x(x,t^{*})]}\approx 1,\]where the optical axis uses \(\ln N=\beta_n\delta\) and the independent structural axis is\(g_x=\lambda_{\rm str}\partial_x\delta\).Empirically, within a fixed weak–field contrast budget and bandwidth, \(\Delta t\) agreement and\(\Pi\approx 1\) co–hold; randomizing or over–smoothing the spectrum breaks both simultaneously, providing a clear, refutable validation of the geometric–electromagnetic link. An optional, unitfulstructural estimator for \(G\) can be reported separately, but here we focus on the unit–free\(c_0\)-link closure and group–delay consistency under once–frozen parameters.
