COMPARISON OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF APPLYING APIS DORSATA AND TRIGONA PURE HONEY GEL ON THE HEALING OF DEGREE II PERINEAL WOUNDS IN POST-PARTUM MOTHERS

This study examines the effectiveness of honey gel from Apis dorsata and Trigona bees in accelerating the healing process of second-degree perineal wounds in postpartum mothers. Perineal wounds are common complications of vaginal delivery, causing pain, discomfort, and increased infection risk. Despite the use of pharmacological treatments like antibiotics and antiseptics, they carry potential side effects. Honey, a natural therapy with antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and tissue-regenerative properties, is a promising alternative. The study aims to compare the healing duration of second-degree perineal wounds between mothers treated with Apis dorsata honey gel and those treated with Trigona honey gel. The results will provide scientific evidence on the effectiveness of Apis dorsata or Trigona honey gel in perineal wound care, reduce REEDA scores, and lower pain levels in honey-treated groups compared to standard care. This study contributes to midwifery practice, natural medicine research, and maternal health improvement by integrating traditional remedies with scientific validation.
