Sacred Feminist Literature A Subgenre of Spiritual Feminist Literature
Sacred Feminist Literature A Subgenre of Spiritual Feminist Literature introduces a new literary category created by Mukata Dangi in 2025. Distinct from Sacred Feminine Literature, which emphasizes goddess traditions and ancestral archetypes, Sacred Feminist Literature centers on women’s lived experience and the act of writing itself as sacred. This subgenre defines writing as resistance, remembrance, and awakening. It identifies six guiding principles: remembrance, voice, theatre, poetry, memoir, and healing. Each principle affirms that the written word carries both spiritual and feminist power, transforming silence into presence and memory into literature. Positioned as a deliberate subgenre of Spiritual Feminist Literature, this paper frames Sacred Feminist Literature as an original literary creation. It expands the feminist literary landscape by uniting spirituality and activism, situating women’s writing as sacred political practice. This publication contributes to feminist literary studies by clarifying the distinction between Sacred Feminine Literature and Sacred Feminist Literature, while joining other branches such as Soulmance Literature and Spiritual Feminist Theatre. Together, these subgenres strengthen the foundation of Spiritual Feminist Literature as a new genre of the twenty first century.
