The Relationship between Academic Boredom and Academic Satisfaction among Application-Oriented Universities in Gansu Province of China
Abstract: This study examines the relationship between academic boredom and academic satisfaction among 439 undergraduates from local application-oriented universities in Gansu, China. Using validated questionnaires, results show moderate levels of boredom, with constraint as the most notable dimension. Academic boredom negatively correlates with academic satisfaction, indicating that higher boredom reduces student satisfaction. Findings support Control-Value Theory and highlight the need for strategies to reduce boredom and improve student experiences. Implications for educators and future research are discussed. Keywords: Academic boredom, academic satisfaction, relationship
