Physics E-Book Using Indigenous Instruments to Foster Critical Thinking and Digital Literacy

This research aims to produce a physics e-book based on Indigenous Instruments (Kacaping and Puik-puik) to foster students' critical thinking and digital literacy, assess it is suitability, and effectiveness for classroom use. Type of research is Research and Development (R&D). The development model used is the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate) development model to design and develop learning products. The subjects of this research were students of class XI MIPA SMAN 9 Makassar. The research design used pretest-posttest control group consisting of experimental class 1, experimental class 2 and control class. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, test and non-test instruments. The instruments use consisted of student response questionnaires, critical thinking and digital literacy tests. Data analysis was performed to instrument validation used to V Aiken calculations, empirical test used to Quest software, and product effectiveness and to increase the ability used to GLM (General Linear Model) statistical tests. The results of the research show that the Physics e-book based on Kacaping and Puik-puik on sound wave material developed is suitable for use in learning based on the validity of the media and material. Limited trials show that Physics e-books based on Kacaping and Puik-puik to improve critical thinking ability and digital literacy are relevant for use. The MANOVA test shows that the use of Physics e-books based on Kacaping and Puik-puik is effective. The integration of indigenous instruments engages students culturally while enhancing critical thinking and digital literacy, suggesting a promising approach for culturally contextualized physics education.
