Impacto de las Estrategias basadas en Textos Narrativos en el Desarrollo de la Comprensión Lectora en los Estudiantes de Octavo EGB de la Unidad Educativa Cocán
The main objective of this research is to evaluate the impact of pedagogical strategies based on narrative texts on improving the reading comprehension of eighth-year students in the 'Cocán' Educational Unit. The study addresses one of the most relevant challenges in basic education: improving reading comprehension skills, essential for academic and personal development. The research uses a mixed approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze data obtained through surveys, interviews and observations. The results highlight that the use of narrative texts facilitates understanding, stimulates the imagination and fosters critical and creative skills in students. It is observed that 75% of the students show appreciation for activities based on narratives, and 80% consider that these strategies help them better understand the texts. The study proposes a series of pedagogical strategies, such as guided reading, dramatization and the creation of alternative endings, that promote critical thinking and collaborative work. Prediction and summary activities are also highlighted as effective tools to improve retention and understanding of content. It concludes that strategies based on narrative texts not only improve reading comprehension, but also enrich the educational experience, promoting meaningful and lasting learning. He suggests that the integration of these methodologies in the curriculum could transform the teaching-learning process, turning students into active protagonists of their education.
