Potencial Antitusígeno de los Flavonoles de Miel de Abeja: Un Estudio Basado en Química Cuántica y la Interacción con la Sustancia P

The flavonols Tachykinin (TQC), Kaempferol (KPF), and Quercetin (QCT), components of bee honey, have demonstrated antioxidant, antimicrobial, antiviral, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory properties, capable of inhibiting proinflammatory enzymes and proinflammatory mediators, as well as neuroprotective activity. Cough serves as a reflex defense mechanism, aiming to expel foreign elements from the respiratory tract, and is also a persistent symptom in the pediatric population. This research aimed to investigate the interaction of flavonols (KFP and QCT) with substance P, as part of the inflammatory process involved in the cough mechanism, using quantum chemistry. The database used for analysis is the HyperChem Main Program, which employs mathematical operationalization of simulators based on Schrödinger's formula. As a result, QCT and KFL inhibit the synthesis of TQC, which is involved in the cough reflex mechanism.

The database used for analysis is the HyperChem Main Program, which employs mathematical operationalization of simulators based on Schrödinger's formula. As a result, QCT and KFL inhibit the synthesis of TQC, which is involved in the cough reflex mechanism.
