THE PRINT MEDIA AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION IN A POST- COLONIAL ERA
This paper explores the role of print media in conflict resolution within the post-colonial era, highlighting its transformative impact on communication, public discourse, and societal healing. It examines how print media serves as a platform for marginalized voices, facilitating dialogue and understanding among conflicting parties. The paper made use of expository and evaluative methods. The paper underscores the dual nature of print media—both as a tool for propagating conflict and as a means of fostering peace. Case studies from various post-colonial contexts illustrate the complexities of media narratives in shaping perceptions and influencing resolutions. The findings suggest that while print media can exacerbate tensions, it also holds significant potential to promote reconciliation and restorative justice when utilized responsibly.
