Effects of Probiotics on Experimental Infections by Schistosoma spp.: a Scoping Review Protocol

This project presents a scoping review protocol designed to map experimental evidence on the effects of probiotics in murine models of schistosomiasis. The review follows JBI methodological guidelines and PRISMA-ScR reporting standards, focusing on parasitological, histopathological, immunological, biochemical, genetic/metabolic, and microbiological outcomes. Findings are expected to clarify the potential role of probiotics as adjunctive strategies and to highlight gaps that may guide future research.
