Troup County pop-up legal clinic aids more than 40 locals
For the second consecutive year, the University of Georgia School of Law participated in a legal pop-up clinic in Troup County that offered free civil legal advice and referrals to residents. Veterans Legal Clinic Director Alexander W. “Alex” Scherr, third-year student Cameron F. Goodman and second-year student Supreme Unukegwo – both with the Public Interest Practicum – participated in the late-October event. This year’s clinic – co-hosted by the School of Law, Troup County courts and the Georgia Legal Services Program – assisted more than 40 individuals seeking consultation, twice the number served at the 2023 clinic. The law school’s participation in the Troup County clinic was supported by a Callaway Foundation grant.
