Comportamiento auditivo en personal del área de producción y empaque por nivel de presión sonora en una avícola del Valle del Cauca

The following research article evaluated auditory behaviors and threshold shifts in workers exposed to occupational noise in the packaging production area of a poultry company in Valle del Cauca, with the aim of determining the impact of auditory threshold changes on PTA > 25 dB during the period from 2020 to 2024. The methodology involved a quantitative, descriptive-correlational, longitudinal study. The study population consisted of 3,400 workers, with a convenience sample of 86 workers. The methodological instruments used included sound level measurements conducted between 2021 and 2024, and audiometric records from the same period. The variables analyzed were: sociodemographic characteristics, occupational physical risk factors (noise), the time of onset of the hearing threshold shift, and its severity according to ANSI criteria based on PTA. A noise pressure level (NPS) of 92.44 dB(A) was found, along with auditory threshold shifts in PTA > 25 dB in the audiometric tests applied over five years of follow-up, with a prevalence of 25%
