The role of a foreign language in developing students’ professional competence

The author examines the issue of developing students’ linguistic personality. Particular attention is paid to linguistic, psychological, and pedagogicalaspects of this process. The study highlights the critical role of independent work, as well as the role of social technologies such as project-based and discussion-based methods, in shaping a modern linguistic personality.
