Diplophractum auriculatum Desfontaines (1819: 34) ≡ Columbia auricolata (Desf.) Pierre (1888: t.137) ≡ Colona auriculata (Desf.) Craib (1925b: 188). Type (lectotype, designated here):— INDONESIA. Java Island, Leschenault s.n. (P! [P06708709]). Desfontaines (1819) cited the specimen Leschenault s.n. in P as type of Diplophractum auriculatum, specifying the presence of some specimens. Analysing the original collection in P was found only one specimen of Leschenault s.n. for the name Diplophractum auriculatum (V. Invernon, pers. comm.). Since the protologue shows the existence of more specimens in P (Desfontaines 1819: 36), in accordance with Art. 9.3 of the ICN, is designate here the specimen P06708709 as the lectotype of Colona auriculata.
