Effect Of Elevated Temperature on Mechanical Properties of Sugarcane Bagasse Ash Concrete

The utilization of sugarcane bagasse ash (SCBA) in concrete is experiencing significant expansion, with considerable investigation and refinement dedicated to creating SCBA concrete that meets specific performance requirements. Notably employed in substantial reinforced construction, a contemporary research focus centers on the performance of SCBA concrete when exposed to elevated temperatures. The accumulation of waste SCBA as a byproduct from sugarcane processing plants presents ecological challenges due to inadequate management. Exhibiting certain pozzolanic attributes when heated moderately, its incorporation into construction materials and diverse applications is vital for mitigating disposal issues. This endeavor aims to develop an environmentally conscious SCBA concrete. This study specifically examines the impact of high temperature on the mechanical properties of concrete incorporating sugarcane bagasse ash, which is composed of cement, coarse aggregate, natural sand (fine aggregate), and SCBA.
