Simulation for the Masses: das SCope-Konzept als niederschwelliger Zugang zu effektiver Simulation im Gesundheitswesen–Ergebnisse einer experimentellen Feldstudie

Simulation for the Masses: The SCope Concept as a Low-Threshold Approach to Effective Simulation in Healthcare Education Simulation is a well-established teaching method in healthcare training. However, access to high-quality simulation is often limited by costs, personnel requirements, and spatial constraints. The SCope concept (Simulation in Classroom for practice transfer in healthcare education) addresses these challenges through a standardized, scalable, and resource-efficient simulation format integrated into classroom settings. In an experimental field study involving 49 nursing students, the implementation and effectiveness of SCope were evaluated. Results indicate that compared to traditional teaching methods, SCope was perceived as more interactive, engaging, and conducive to learning. The approach enhances the theory-to-practice transfer while reducing the preparatory workload for instructors. Thus, SCope offers a feasible and impactful solution to expand simulation-based training in healthcare – especially in resource-limited educational environments.
