IMPACT OF ROLE SPILLOVER ON EMPLOYEE JOB SATISFACTION IN SELECTED PUBLIC TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS IN DELTA STATE, NIGERIA
Abstract This study probes the relationship between role spillover and job satisfaction among teaching and non-teaching staff in six public tertiary institutions across Delta State, Nigeria. Focusing on work-family enrichment, work-life balance, and work-family conflict, the research sampled 380 respondents from a population of 7,416 staff. The results revealed that work-family enrichment (p<0.000) and work-life balance (p< 0.000) significantly enhance employee job satisfaction, while work-family conflict negatively impacts job satisfaction (p<0.001). The study highlighted the importance of fostering work-family enrichment and work-life balance to boost employee job satisfaction while mitigating work-family conflict to prevent detrimental effects.
