FAIR Human Biomonitoring Data

This poster describes the Personal Exposure and Health (PEH) platform, which is developed by VITO under the EU Partnership for the Assessment of Risks from Chemicals (PARC). The PEH platform enables harmonization, secure storage, and sharing of human biomonitoring data. To better implement the FAIR principles, the architecture of the platform is being improved. Key features include: - Study owners can provide metadata and data through a user interface, based on agreed metadata schemas. - Metadata and data are linked to published vocabularies, with a transparent governance process and version control. By acting as single source of truth, the vocabularies promote consistency.- Harmonized metadata and data standards ensure interoperability with other research domains, such as environmental monitoring and geospatial information, and with external resources such as IPCHEM, MOLGENIS, and the future Common Data Platform on Chemicals. From late 2025, the new architecture will be progressively released, making human biomonitoring data increasingly FAIR.
