Anti-racist, Anti-oppressive, and culturally responsive social work practice

The campaign of anti-racism is significant in the social work field to dismantle white supremacy, history says that the highest population is taken by whites in the education sector, according to Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) 2019 annual report indicates that 61.1% of full-time faculty and 58.3% of part-time faculty identify as White (CSWE, 2019). The 2019 CSWE annual report also demonstrates that the predominant group of social work students at all levels identify as White (CSWE, 2019). While 48.7% of baccalaureate students identify as White, 50.2% of master's level students,(Wright et al., 2021). Anti-racism should start by giving an appraisal to all social worker founders W.E.B. Dubois and Eugene Kinkle, Phillip Randolph, Harry Moore, and Harriette Moore, who experienced hardships, including dehumanization, and assassination during the same period as Jane Adams and Mary Ellen Richmond. It is vital to stop reusing the same publications to recognize other activists to make the history of social work fair and equitable with no bias. It is time to remove those icons that portray only those few founders who are praised and recognized, and we use a general lens and appraise all contributors to social work and social welfare.

It is vital to stop reusing the same publications to recognize other activists to make the history of social work fair and equitable with no bias. It is time to remove those icons that portray only those few founders who are praised and recognized, and we use a general lens and appraise all contributors to social work and social welfare.
