Recent Advances in the Theory and Applications of Arithmetical Rings
Arithmetical rings provide a special combination of algebraic structure and generality. They are a distinguished class of commutative rings with locally principal finitely generated ideals. These rings are becoming more and more important in algebraic geometry, homological algebra, and multiplicative ideal theory. They generalize Prüfer rings and value rings. The theory of arithmetical rings, including its structural features, localization behavior, Krull and weak dimensions, arithmetical function rings, and homological classification, is examined in this work along with its classical underpinnings and more contemporary developments. The integration of current research (2024–2025) with classic theoretical frameworks is emphasized, providing a new perspective for further investigation into abstract algebra and its computational boundaries
