EXPLORA - conséquences non létales de l’exposition aux pesticides sur les reines Apis mellifera

Pollinators are essential in maintaining the biodiversity of flowering plants and contribute to agriculturalyields (fruits, vegetables). These insects are in decline and threatened using pesticides. Marketingauthorization tests test their impact on non-target species but hide the non-lethal effects that cansignificantly reduce the quality of pollinators. In this article, we present the results of scientific studies onthe non-lethal effects of certain pesticides (EXPLORA project). The results show major effects on bees, including survival, larval development, emergence, during nuptial flight or parameters related to queenreproduction. The use of chemicals designed to destroy living things shows their limits due to its effects(lethal and non-lethal) on non-target species and often the non-selectivity of the molecules
