SISTEM PENDUKUNG KEPUTUSAN REKOMENDASI PRODUK OLAHRAGA MENGGUNAKAN METODE TOPSIS (STUDI KASUS : SPORTS STATION BINJAI SUPERMALL)

ABSTRACT
The development of the sports retail industry in Indonesia has
shown significant growth in line with advances in information
technology. One of the most in-demand products is running shoes,
both for sports activities and as part of a lifestyle. Sports Station,
Binjai Supermall branch, offers a wide range of branded shoes;
however, customers often face difficulties in selecting the most
suitable product due to the large variety of criteria such as upper,
lining, midsole, outsole, fit, price, and product rating. This
condition highlights the need for a system that can provide
structured and objective recommendations. This study develops a
web-based Decision Support System (DSS) using PHP programming
language and MySQL database, applying the Technique for Order
Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method.
TOPSIS was chosen because it allows the analysis of multiple
criteria to generate product recommendations that closely match
the ideal solution. The implementation results indicate that the
system can provide objective product ranking, with Adidas 4DFWD
(A11) achieving the highest preference score of 0.7335. The
decision-making process involves several stages, including
normalization of the decision matrix, weighting, determination of
positive and negative ideal solutions, distance calculation, and
computation of preference values (Vi). The findings demonstrate
that TOPSIS can proportionally accommodate both benefit and
cost criteria, enabling the system to produce rational,
measurable, and accountable recommendations for sports
products.
Keywords: Decision Support System, TOPSIS, product
recommendation, running shoes, Sports Station
