<p><strong><span>Abstract</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span>This manuscript undertakes a comprehensive and critical evaluation of legal sovereignty and constitutional supremacy in the postcolonial states of South Asia, encompassing India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Tracing the historical evolution of sovereignty, the theoretical debates surrounding parliamentary versus constitutional supremacy, and the jurisprudential frameworks of Austin, Kelsen, and others, the work examines the dynamic interaction between law, politics, and society. It explores constituent power, judicial interpretation, emergency powers, federalism, human rights treaties, and globalization’s impact on domestic constitutional authority, while addressing challenges from secessionist movements, technological change, and environmental governance. Employing comparative analysis, the manuscript foregrounds the normative imperatives for democratic legitimacy, sustainable constitutionalism, and multi-ethnic accommodation.
