Prevention of cardiotoxicity in patients taking anthracyclines: a scoping review
Oncology treatments with anthracyclines carry a significant risk of cardiotoxicity, impacting the survival and quality of life of hematologic oncology patients. Although there are several studies on mechanisms, diagnosis, and prevention, there is no updated and systematic synthesis to support clinical practice. This review aims to map and analyze recent evidence to contribute to safer and more effective clinical protocols. The objective of this scoping review is to identify and synthesize evidence on strategies for preventing anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity in adult patients with hematologic malignancies.
