Wärmetransport im katalytischen Mehrphasenreaktor für die Dehydrierung von flüssigen organischen Wasserstoffträgern
In this work, the continuous dehydrogenation of the LOHC carriers perhydro-benzyltoluene and perhydro-dibenzyltoluene in a catalytic tubular reactor was investigated. Due to product gas evolution, the multiphase reaction is accompanied by an enormous volume expansion, evaporation of the liquid LOHC mixture and, consequently, complex hydrodynamic properties in the catalyst bed. In order to understand the heat input in reactions with these characteristics and to determine modelling parameters for the design of large-scale dehydrogenation reactors, heat transport experiments were carried out under reactive conditions. The experimental data was evaluated using an empirical model that calculates the heat consumption by reaction, convection and evaporation in the reactor and solves it with regard to the hydrodynamic properties as well as local and global heat transport coefficients. Conducting the experiments with two different LOHC systems allowed to analyse the influence of the evaporation tendency of a carrier on the boundary conditions of heat transport.
