A vector of current education: transdisciplinarity
The end goal of current education consists in accepting and exploring the system’s innovations, which are coordinated with external changes while still being generated by education. The aspects we need to take into account today (so as not to be too late tomorrow) concern contents, processes, and relationships. In this context, interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity are imperative, since it is these aspects that create the platforms from which the educational content may be approached. A knowledge of the world and of the language of instruction, as well as of foreign languages, the ability to document oneself from credible sources and to explore the connections between subjects and domains help solve problems that cannot be solved by merely following a retained algorithm. In order to achieve the inevitable life-long learning it is no longer sufficient to return to the university courses or professional training modules that had been successfully studied in the past. Identifying professional and personal development problems, opting individually for a certain course, training, tutorial, consultation, or guided exercise, choosing credible documentation sources – all of this is part of the future work activity of contemporary students.
