Point-of-Care ultrasound nurse clinical competence assessment tool: Scope review protocol
Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing (EERP) - University of São Paulo (USP). This scoping review aims to map the clinical competencies needed for nurses to use point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS). The review follows the PRISMA-ScR guideline and JBI recommendations, with a search strategy applied to various databases, including CINAHL, Embase, PubMed, Web of Science, and others, along with gray literature. It will include primary studies, reviews, and guidelines discussing the clinical skills required for performing bedside ultrasound. Two independent reviewers will handle screening, selection, and data extraction. The expected result is to provide an overview of the necessary clinical competencies for PoCUS use by nurses, contributing to the development and validation of a specific instrument for these professionals.
