Heat and mass transfer models for the energy efficient management of defrosting operations in supermarkets refrigerated cabinets

This paper focuses on the frost formation on evaporators in supermarkets cabinets and the strategy for efficient electric defrosting. Therefore, a mathematical model for estimating the ideal number and duration of defrosting process has been developed and validated with real data.
