"Earthquakes Now Decoded"

This paper presents a groundbreaking seismological framework that redefines earthquakes as electromagnetic coherence failures rather than mechanical stress discharges. Integrating concepts from magnetic information theory, piezoelectric fracture mechanics, and precursor field anomalies, Wilcox introduces the Collapse Threshold (κ_quake) and Energy Dissipation Ratio (η_quake) as formal markers for tectonic rupture. In this model, Earth's crust is not passive—it is an active magnetic memory structure whose breakdown precedes seismic activity. By framing magnetic information density (MID) as the true stabilizing architecture of fault zones, the paper interprets ULF magnetic spikes and low-frequency electric pulses as early signals of MID decay. This theoretical lens connects laboratory studies, historical quakes like Loma Prieta (1989), and satellite anomalies into a single predictive paradigm. This work extends the author’s accepted 2025 entropy model and positions earthquake science on a new electromagnetic footing. It challenges traditional elasticity models and opens the door for forecasting, geoengineering, and rethinking Earth as a layered information-processing system. Keywords: Seismo-electromagnetism, Magnetic Information Density, Earthquake Prediction, MID Collapse, κ_quake, η_quake, Piezoelectric Faults, Geophysical Information Theory, Wilcox Framework
